When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Gonzalo Tipi sped through Borussia Dortmund's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mathis Rippert. Borussia Dortmund's Mathis Rippert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Taha Kurceren in the 16th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Borussia Dortmund's zone, Taha Kurceren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mathis Rippert came out of the goal and Taha Kurceren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ignaz Kuhl's late challenge caught a HBH's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ignaz Kuhl helped the player get up and apologised. Ignaz Kuhl hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Borussia Dortmund defense, Taha Kurceren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mathis Rippert. The Borussia Dortmund fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mathis Rippert should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as HBH's Taha Kurceren slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mathis Rippert. That made the score 3-1 after 46 minutes of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gonzalo Tipi made a kick off. Gonzalo Tipi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th minute, Taha Kurceren made a precise shot to the right of Mathis Rippert. Borussia Dortmund's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. In the 66th match minute, HBH was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hanno Hug to maneuver through the defense. After 76 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Victor Jerat. Taha Kurceren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mathis Rippert having to interfere. Egon Dehne's late challenge caught a HBH's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Egon Dehne helped the player get up and apologised. In the 83rd match minute, Borussia Dortmund was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egon Dehne to maneuver through the defense. When Hanno Hug fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored HBH's protests and gave Hanno Hug a yellow card for diving instead. Hanno Hug hit a great ball. 89 minutes into the match, HBH's goal looked a bit too open when Roland Lorenz came free, but Remigiusz Wojtyna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, HBH could leave the field as winners, despite Borussia Dortmund having more of the ball for most of the match.
