The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Patrick Heimann showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 13th minute, Malte Gnant left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sondershausen FSV fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Remo Totti in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stefan Lelke prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 21 minutes into the match, VFR Stommeln's goal looked a bit too open when Ekin Sauter came free, but Patrick Heimann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Remo Totti's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stefan Lelke was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Patrick Heimann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Didier Starke in the 25th minute of the match. Stanislaw Pistauer charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stanislaw Pistauer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 26 played minutes Sondershausen FSV got a freekick which was hit by Stanislaw Pistauer. Remo Totti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 34th minute, Didier Starke made a precise shot to the right of Patrick Heimann. VFR Stommeln's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 37th minute Didier Starke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Heimann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, VFR Stommeln's goal looked a bit too open when Didier Starke came free, but Patrick Heimann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patrick Heimann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ekin Sauter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute Didier Starke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Heimann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 46 minutes of play, Sondershausen FSV's Didier Starke made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Patrick Heimann was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Didier Starke to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Sondershausen FSV's Malte Gnant dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. After 66 played minutes Sondershausen FSV got a freekick which was hit by Didier Starke. The crowd rose to their feet as Sondershausen FSV's Didier Starke slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Patrick Heimann. That made the score 1-5 after 67 minutes of play. Didier Starke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Heimann having to interfere. A collision led to Sondershausen FSV getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Malte Gnant hit a great ball. Didier Starke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Patrick Heimann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ekin Sauter hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Remo Totti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Malte Gnant fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sondershausen FSV's protests and gave Malte Gnant a yellow card for diving instead. In the 95th minute, Malte Gnant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match was over Sondershausen FSV could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than VFR Stommeln throughout the match.
