Joachim Brandborn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Dullinger, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Sebastian Dullinger blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joachim Brandborn having to make a save. Iserlohner Heide FC's Johann Ebbenga got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Johann Ebbenga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leopold Hartdegen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Iserlohner Heide FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gerke Zepek came free, but Joachim Brandborn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 22 minutes, Matthias Dutzi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Iserlohner Heide FC and the RWD2 players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Iserlohner Heide FC's Matthias Dutzi got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Rudolf Gerulat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopold Hartdegen having to interfere. Rudolf Gerulat charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rudolf Gerulat the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 47th minute, Gerke Zepek got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Roland Rombach got his second yellow card in the match during the 53rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, RWD2's Roland Rombach got a free kick in the 54th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Rudolf Gerulat managed to get in a good position for a shot. Iserlohner Heide FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rudolf Gerulat was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leopold Hartdegen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 58 minutes into the match, Iserlohner Heide FC's goalkeeper Joachim Brandborn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sebastian Dullinger. Sebastian Dullinger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joachim Brandborn having to interfere. Volker Niklaus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Sebastian Dullinger came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the RWD2 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Dullinger couldn't finish the play. If Johann Ebbenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 67 minutes, Evrim Fazio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the RWD2 and the Iserlohner Heide FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 67th match minute, RWD2 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evrim Fazio to maneuver through the defense. Leopold Hartdegen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johann Ebbenga in the 69th minute of the match. Sebastian Dullinger struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Joachim Brandborn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RWD2. After 76 played minutes RWD2 got a freekick which was hit by Gerke Zepek. Rudolf Gerulat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Leopold Hartdegen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Iserlohner Heide FC's Johann Ebbenga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leopold Hartdegen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rudolf Gerulat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute.
