The referee showed Cecil Gebhard the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Berthold Woitzik made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hendrik Ackers in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kai-Uwe Pässler in the 22nd minute of play forced Grundner's goalkeeper Berthold Woitzik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Klemens van Dorps short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Berthold Woitzik to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elmo Juratovic in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peter Klein prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 44 minutes, Elmo Juratovic managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grundner's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elmo Juratovic was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Hendrik Ackers made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Hoisten FSV getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Hendrik Ackers hit a great ball. After 58 minutes, Volker Baba made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Grundner's Berthold Woitzik tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Grundner's zone, Kai-Uwe Pässler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Berthold Woitzik came out of the goal and Kai-Uwe Pässler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Berthold Woitzik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kai-Uwe Pässler in the 73rd minute of play. In the 74th minute Hendrik Ackers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Berthold Woitzik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dominik Fuchs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Klein having to interfere. Berthold Woitzik stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Klemens van Dorp's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. In the 85th minute Elmo Juratovic shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Klein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Klemens van Dorp hit a great ball. 89 minutes into the match, Elmo Juratovic dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Peter Klein, 2-1. 92 minutes into the match, Grundner's goal looked a bit too open when Hendrik Ackers came free, but Berthold Woitzik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Halldor Heinzmann kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Grundner's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
