The supporters of Marschhorst booed when CA Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christoph Hensel didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clemens Havemann in the 26th minute of play forced CA Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Marcel Forberger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lukas Milles got free with Marcel Forberger in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ergün Molau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Torsten Gmelin having to interfere. Louis Rittel might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Torsten Gmelin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Louis Rittel ran back to his position shaking his head. Louis Rittel struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Torsten Gmelin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CA Boca Juniors. Louis Rittel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. CA Boca Juniors's Marcel Forberger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save CA Boca Juniors from getting a goal against them. 48 minutes into the match, CA Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Clemens Havemann came free, but Marcel Forberger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clemens Havemann in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcel Forberger prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 58th minute, Clemens Havemann left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Marschhorst fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. CA Boca Juniors made a substitution. Tobias Schmitt-Illert replaced Louis Rittel. Marcel Forberger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clemens Havemann, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. If Uwe Hinsken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. CA Boca Juniors's Bernd Bartsch quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Robert Osterholt, made in the 69th minute of the game. Lukas Milles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. Marcel Forberger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
