In the 21st minute Anton Konerding shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herminio Iztal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matthias Seeliger's late challenge caught a Odeweg FSV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matthias Seeliger helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Odeweg FSV booed when FC Tomy 68 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthias Seeliger didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the match, FC Tomy 68's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Kalnik came free, but Alfons Insel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Tomy 68's Alfons Insel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save FC Tomy 68 from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, FC Tomy 68's Alfons Insel got control of the ball when Gerald Kröger tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gerald Kröger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Alfons Insel made a huge save. Alfons Insel acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 91st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Walter Klingemann. Nico Gudd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfons Insel having to interfere.
