The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Attila Baroš showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jiří Vlasatý, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Filip Osička blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Attila Baroš having to make a save. Jiří Vlasatý fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Attila Baroš having to interfere. If Jiří Vlasatý had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Paris Saint Germain getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Milan Kočí hit a great ball. In the 46th match minute, Bayern Bratislava was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filip Osička to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vratislav Dokoupil was the one to do the kick off. If Vratislav Dokoupil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vlastimil Plašil came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Paris Saint Germain's Matouš Roztočil. But to his dismay, Matouš Roztočil quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a rather tough play, Paris Saint Germain's Maxim Kafka got a free kick in the 56th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oliver Koláček during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Oliver Koláček kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. The supporters of Bayern Bratislava booed when Paris Saint Germain was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rostislav Hendrych didn't get a good kick on the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Jiří Vlasatý had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Attila Baroš. Paris Saint Germain's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jiří Vlasatý was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Vlastimil Plašil made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Matouš Roztočil sent off a good shot on target. Attila Baroš made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jiří Vlasatý in the 80th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Jiří Vlasatý got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jiří Vlasatý sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roland Tesárek hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Filip Osička managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bayern Bratislava's supporters rose to their feet, but Filip Osička was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Attila Baroš breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Bayern Bratislava had played much better football throughout.
