Vojtěch Šandor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Marcel Smrčka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 19 minutes, Jaromír Chlup mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AC Sparta Praha and the Jerza Brno players grew even worse after the yellow card. AC Sparta Praha's Miroslav Štancl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rudolf Sukup in the 22nd minute of play. Rudolf Sukup fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miroslav Štancl having to interfere. Miroslav Štancl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rudolf Sukup in the 26th minute of the match. After 28 played minutes AC Sparta Praha got a freekick which was hit by Zdenek Trnka. The supporters of Jerza Brno booed when AC Sparta Praha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaromír Chlup didn't get a good kick on the ball. 36 minutes into the match, AC Sparta Praha's goal looked a bit too open when Marcel Smrčka came free, but Miroslav Štancl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Vojtěch Šandor could shoot a difficult shot in the 44th minute, which Erik Vávra however easily saved by the left post. A collision led to AC Sparta Praha getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Jaromír Chlup hit a great ball. 47 minutes into the match, AC Sparta Praha's goal looked a bit too open when Rudolf Sukup came free, but Miroslav Štancl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 49 minutes AC Sparta Praha's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Heřman Topol who took care of the corner kick. Denis Motyka made a great header on Jerza Brno's corner, it was just that AC Sparta Praha's Miroslav Štancl managed to reach the ball for a save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rudolf Sukup made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vojtěch Šandor in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Erik Vávra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, AC Sparta Praha's Miroslav Štancl got control of the ball when Marcel Smrčka tried to sneak it across the goal line. AC Sparta Praha's Miroslav Štancl proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save AC Sparta Praha from getting a goal against them. Jan Stránský hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. After 86 played minutes, Jerza Brno's Heřman Topol shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Miroslav Štancl came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Jerza Brno reached it. Jaromír Chlup kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Jerza Brno's Heřman Topol shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 91st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Miroslav Štancl but with some difficulty. 98 minutes into the match, AC Sparta Praha's goalkeeper Miroslav Štancl had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcel Smrčka. Jerza Brno's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because AC Sparta Praha had won, even though Jerza Brno had held more of the ball.
