FK Karolinka's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vágner Love was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 13 minutes into the match, Petr Drdla dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Basílio Soeiro, 1-2. Josef Tichavský didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tadeo Chico went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. FC Oltec's Basílio Soeiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save FC Oltec from getting a goal against them. The referee felt a red card was in order, 25 minutes into the game, when Bohdan Mráz put in a rough tackle. Josef Tichavský showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Egon Bulín in the 39th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, FC Oltec's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Mazal came free, but Basílio Soeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vágner Love to strike the kick off in the second half. Jan Mazal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basílio Soeiro having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vágner Love got free with Josef Tichavský in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
