Patricius Nuessli's late challenge caught a Taverne's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patricius Nuessli helped the player get up and apologised. Christopher Micheletto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Marti in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Michael Marti notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Taverne's Christopher Micheletto. Christopher Micheletto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Salmsach FC's Alexandros Jenny played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baptiste Schumske in the 29th minute of play. After having played for 40 minutes, Havel Neuenschwander managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salmsach FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Havel Neuenschwander was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Michael Marti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Baptiste Schumske to make the kick off. Havel Neuenschwander was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 51st minute. Salmsach FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Michael Marti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Michael Marti's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Christopher Micheletto was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Christopher Micheletto came out of the goal and Havel Neuenschwander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 79th minute, Havel Neuenschwander ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Christopher Micheletto was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Christopher Micheletto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael Marti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Michael Marti in the 86th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Christopher Micheletto kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 0-5 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. The supporters of Taverne booed when Salmsach FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Finn Schnyder didn't get a good kick on the ball.
