After 4 played minutes Hornussen SC got a freekick which was hit by Otto Bohm. Greg Schmidlin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hendrick Beck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Greg Schmidlin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christy Strauss in the 9th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Rory Brandini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 16 minutes into the match, AS Breganzona's goal looked a bit too open when Christy Strauss came free, but Greg Schmidlin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Hendrick Beck came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Hornussen SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hendrick Beck couldn't finish the play. Paulus Meier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Greg Schmidlin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hendrick Beck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christy Strauss blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Greg Schmidlin having to make a save. Christy Strauss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greg Schmidlin having to interfere. In the 36thth minute of the game Hendrick Beck who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AS Breganzona's Greg Schmidlin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in AS Breganzona's zone, Christy Strauss stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Greg Schmidlin came out of the goal and Christy Strauss tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 43 minutes into the match, AS Breganzona's goal looked a bit too open when Hendrick Beck came free, but Greg Schmidlin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th match minute, AS Breganzona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herald Cavegn to maneuver through the defense. When Christy Strauss fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hornussen SC's protests and gave Christy Strauss a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Hornussen SC's Christy Strauss got a free kick in the 47th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Greg Schmidlin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christy Strauss in the 54th minute of the match. With a little luck, AS Breganzona's Greg Schmidlin got control of the ball when Hendrick Beck tried to sneak it across the goal line. Guillaume Lautens didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Herald Cavegn went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 60th match minute, Hornussen SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulus Meier to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute, Christy Strauss reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Greg Schmidlin. The goal made the score 2-1. Greg Schmidlin came out of the goal and Hendrick Beck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hornussen SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Christy Strauss was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
