After having played for 5 minutes, Dave Bircher managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After 6 minutes, Florent Cinq-Mars mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Henggart and the Lausanne Sport Engelberg players grew even worse after the yellow card. Reto Scherer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julio Schuster, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 10 minutes into the match, Henggart's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Bircher came free, but Reto Scherer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute Julio Schuster shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reto Scherer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Henggart's Florent Cinq-Mars got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Odysseus Nef fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raoul Brauer having to interfere. In the 29th minute, Raimundo Decorvet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Schuster scored 0-1 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Reto Scherer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jon Stofer kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. When Odysseus Nef came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Henggart fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Odysseus Nef couldn't finish the play. After 47 played minutes, Lausanne Sport Engelberg's Eusebius Mazza shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Reto Scherer came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lausanne Sport Engelberg reached it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dave Bircher stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Raimundo Decorvet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reto Scherer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dave Bircher in the 64th minute of the match. If Raimundo Decorvet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ralf Lang fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lausanne Sport Engelberg's protests and gave Ralf Lang a yellow card for diving instead. After 67 played minutes Lausanne Sport Engelberg got a freekick which was hit by Ralf Lang. 75 minutes into the match, Lausanne Sport Engelberg's goal looked a bit too open when Raimundo Decorvet came free, but Raoul Brauer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raimundo Decorvet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raoul Brauer having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Florent Cinq-Mars hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st minute Raimundo Decorvet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raoul Brauer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dave Bircher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reto Scherer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dave Bircher in the 97th minute of the match. Lausanne Sport Engelberg's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
