Black Legion's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Styls the free kick. In the 5th minute of the match Jaromir Sprecher sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Felix Vonrotz skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Black Legion's Ramon Studer got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 8th minute of the match FC Styls got a corner. Black Legion's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jaromir Sprecher ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Jaromir Sprecher almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Black Legion's Felix Vonrotz did a great save. Nikolaus Rohrer kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. FC Styls's Jaromir Sprecher couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 11th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Black Legion. Nicolai Tive sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 18 minutes, Gunnar Heller mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Styls and the Black Legion players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nicolai Tive fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Lehrer having to interfere. Jan Lehrer acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 24th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ramon Studer. During the 25th minute of the match Christian Gerig completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Christian Gerig a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of FC Styls booed when Black Legion was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Gerig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Norman Murray sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute Barney Schär shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Vonrotz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Black Legion's zone, Barney Schär stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felix Vonrotz came out of the goal and Barney Schär tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 38th minute Barney Schär shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Vonrotz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fernando Dürst to make the kick off. If Barney Schär had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jadon Bärtschi kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. In the 66th minute Fernando Dürst shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Lehrer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, Black Legion's goal looked a bit too open when Barney Schär came free, but Felix Vonrotz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Barney Schär had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Black Legion's Felix Vonrotz got control of the ball when Norman Murray tried to sneak it across the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Black Legion's Fernando Dürst sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jan Lehrer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Norman Murray could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Felix Vonrotz made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Black Legion's zone, Barney Schär stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felix Vonrotz came out of the goal and Barney Schär tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felix Vonrotz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barney Schär, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. FC Styls's Gunnar Heller got his second yellow card of the match in the 91st minute. The referee ordered Gunnar Heller off the ground. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kordt Weiss during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The FC Styls supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Styls would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
