After 37 minutes, Foster Ruhle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Cadempino and the FC Joao United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in FC Cadempino's zone, Harald Boller stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Curt Verlengia came out of the goal and Harald Boller tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Curt Verlengia came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Joao United's Harald Boller. But to his dismay, Harald Boller quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Harald Boller stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ezra Scheupach during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Harald Boller in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Curt Verlengia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Harald Boller's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Curt Verlengia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Harley Wirth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 64 minutes into the match, FC Joao United's goal looked a bit too open when Jerome Ursprung came free, but Markus Pernhardt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thoralf Yelmorini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Curt Verlengia having to interfere. The FC Joao United players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
