Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Mike Wirz started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in FC ES Malley's zone, Joachim Wetter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gene Wermuth came out of the goal and Joachim Wetter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Joachim Wetter's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gene Wermuth was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. In the 8th match minute, Plasselb was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabien Zeffiro to maneuver through the defense. After 11 played minutes Plasselb got a freekick which was hit by Sergius Morf. When Lawrence Lischer came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the FC ES Malley fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lawrence Lischer couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joachim Wetter in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gene Wermuth saved FC ES Malley from getting behind. If Forrest Brand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Forrest Brand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Gene Wermuth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute Lawrence Lischer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingo Zwahlen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Roman Beaulé hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Plasselb were awarded a corner in the 46th minute after FC ES Malley's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Huber Rastgeber took the corner.

FC ES Malley's Gene Wermuth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Forrest Brand in the 52nd minute of play. Plasselb's Joachim Wetter got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Forrest Brand scored 2-0 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gene Wermuth, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Joachim Wetter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gene Wermuth having to interfere. Forrest Brand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 65 minutes, Lawrence Lischer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC ES Malley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lawrence Lischer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 70 minutes into the game, Plasselb's Sergius Morf nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gene Wermuth made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Forrest Brand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 78 minutes into the match, Joachim Wetter had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gene Wermuth. FC ES Malley's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joachim Wetter was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sergius Morf during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gene Wermuth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Forrest Brand in the 84th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joachim Wetter in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gene Wermuth saved FC ES Malley from getting behind. 88 minutes into the match, Plasselb's Joachim Wetter sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gene Wermuth narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to FC ES Malley getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Lobo Lingg hit a great ball. 89 minutes into the match, FC ES Malley's goal looked a bit too open when Forrest Brand came free, but Gene Wermuth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lawrence Lischer struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Ingo Zwahlen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC ES Malley. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC ES Malley players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Plasselb.
