When Martial Gautschi came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Eggersriet FC 89 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martial Gautschi couldn't finish the play. Martial Gautschi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Remi Mader having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giuseppe Langelier during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Eggersriet FC 89 booed when Lütmerken was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giuseppe Langelier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Greg Eberhart charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Lütmerken's Remi Mader played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by August Zwirn in the 46th minute of play. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Martial Gautschi to strike the kick off in the second half. Remi Mader made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Bennett Stalder's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Remi Mader read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. After 64 played minutes Lütmerken got a freekick which was hit by Anthony Mader. Anthony Mader's late challenge caught a Eggersriet FC 89's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anthony Mader helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Lütmerken's Anthony Mader got a free kick in the 65th minute. In the 67th minute, Lütmerken's Lionel Beich seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Lionel Beich the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Lütmerken protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Lionel Beich had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Lütmerken fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 67th minute. Penalty! August Zwirn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Remi Mader tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. August Zwirn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remi Mader having to interfere. Remi Mader showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martial Gautschi in the 86th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the match, Lütmerken's goal looked a bit too open when Bennett Stalder came free, but Remi Mader reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stefano Labrie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Eggersriet FC 89 fully deserved thier win.
