Lionel Emennegger made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Dennis Steingher sent off a good shot on target. When Andreas Koch fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fc Olten's protests and gave Andreas Koch a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Fc Olten's Andreas Koch got a free kick in the 6th minute. A hard shot 7 in the game by Dennis Steingher from a close distance when the talented Lionel Emennegger managed to make a qualified save. Fc Olten's players were relieved. The throw-in from Sepp Goffredo in the 10th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Fc Olten's Ingvar Beyer. Fc Olten's Lionel Emennegger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Fc Olten from getting a goal against them. During the 14th minute of the match Andreas Koch completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Andreas Koch a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Andreas Koch hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Dennis Steingher could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Lionel Emennegger made a huge save. Conrad Decker kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. The supporters of Fc Olten booed when Jaun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jochen Baertschi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute Dario Finger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lionel Emennegger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaun's Reynold Steinger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Howard Howald in the 35th minute of play. The throw-in from Jochen Baertschi in the 37th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Fc Olten's Howard Howald. Howard Howald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynold Steinger having to interfere. Reynold Steinger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrad Decker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Severin Jakobeit kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Jaun's Reynold Steinger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alban Striner in the 42nd minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The wind increased when Waldemar Wagner made the kick off in the second half. 63 minutes into the game, Alban Striner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fc Olten's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jaun the free kick. In the 63rd match minute, Fc Olten was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alban Striner to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Fc Olten's zone, Jochen Baertschi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lionel Emennegger came out of the goal and Jochen Baertschi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Howard Howald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynold Steinger having to interfere. Patrick Lengen was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 68 minutes into the match. Alban Striner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Reynold Steinger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute Stuart Barbonetti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lionel Emennegger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stuart Barbonetti scored 2-0 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lionel Emennegger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
