In the 22nd minute, Jonathan Merckx got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Lebbeke defense, Matty Degraef kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jaques Breugelmans. The Lebbeke fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jaques Breugelmans should have stopped the shot. Ambly's Birger Van Hoof played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maxim Van Eersel in the 30th minute of play. 32 minutes into the game, Gertjan Huyberechts cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Birger Van Hoof was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Maxim Van Eersel, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 38 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Birger Van Hoof was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Maxim Van Eersel struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Birger Van Hoof didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lebbeke. After having played for 42 minutes, Harrie Ravoet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lebbeke's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harrie Ravoet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Harrie Ravoet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arnold Deflandre kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Birger Van Hoof showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harrie Ravoet, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Maxim Van Eersel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Harrie Ravoet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Birger Van Hoof was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Harrie Ravoet kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Birger Van Hoof. That made the score 1-3 in the 83 minute of play. Maxim Van Eersel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Birger Van Hoof tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
