Spectators: 7563 (Terracing: 5673, Seating: 1739, VIP seats: 151) Lincent's Jean Louis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Dries Grammet came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Lincent fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dries Grammet couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jean Louis in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maurice van Haghten prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean Louis in the 10th minute of play forced Arsenal's goalkeeper Maurice van Haghten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yanis Van Der Meren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dries Van Dock hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Jean Louis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Dries Grammet put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Maurice van Haghten. After some careless play in the Arsenal defense, Jean Louis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maurice van Haghten. The Arsenal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maurice van Haghten should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jean Louis in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Maurice van Haghten saved Arsenal from getting behind. The supporters of Arsenal booed when Lincent was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathieux Verheyden didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Jean Louis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lincent's supporters rose to their feet, but Jean Louis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maurice van Haghten breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Arsenal's zone, Dries Grammet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurice van Haghten came out of the goal and Dries Grammet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Dries Grammet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dries Grammet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dries Grammet struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Maurice van Haghten didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lincent. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Birger Sabbe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Dries Van Dock managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mark Quintens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Birger Sabbe in the 64th minute of play. A collision led to Lincent getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Jean Louis hit a great ball. In the 70th minute, Jean Louis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dries Grammet got free with Maurice van Haghten in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jean Louis in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Arsenal's Maurice van Haghten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathieux Verheyden in the 80th minute of play. If Jean Louis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Lincent's Jean Louis in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Arsenal's goalie prevented a goal. In the 87th minute Jean Louis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurice van Haghten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th minute, Geert-Jan Van der Goten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Lincent's Jean Louis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Maurice van Haghten. That made the score 0-4 after 89 minutes of play. Dries Grammet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurice van Haghten having to interfere. When the match was over Lincent could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Arsenal throughout the match.
