Spectators: 6752 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1752, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ron Van Den Bosch got the match started through his kick off. Herman Hostens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Arne Van Cleijnenbruegel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Christiaan Vanden Berghe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christiaan Vanden Berghe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudi Herpoel having to interfere. Rudi Herpoel came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by AFC Sint-Goriks-Oudenhove's Christiaan Vanden Berghe. But to his dismay, Christiaan Vanden Berghe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Tibaut Van Latem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Qwinten Kest's late challenge caught a KFC Edegem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Qwinten Kest helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of KFC Edegem booed when AFC Sint-Goriks-Oudenhove was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Qwinten Kest didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Tibaut Van Latem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Christiaan Vanden Berghe sped through KFC Edegem's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rudi Herpoel. Ron Van Den Bosch blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rudi Herpoel having to make a save. Christiaan Vanden Berghe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudi Herpoel having to interfere.

Ron Van Den Bosch blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rudi Herpoel having to make a save. KFC Edegem's Rudi Herpoel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ron Van Den Bosch in the 61st minute of play. After 62 minutes, Andrew Valckx mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KFC Edegem and the AFC Sint-Goriks-Oudenhove players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of AFC Sint-Goriks-Oudenhove booed when KFC Edegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrew Valckx didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Christiaan Vanden Berghe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Ron Van Den Bosch kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rudi Herpoel. That made the score 0-3 in the 67 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in KFC Edegem's zone, Christiaan Vanden Berghe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rudi Herpoel came out of the goal and Christiaan Vanden Berghe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rudi Herpoel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martial Van der Veken in the 73rd minute of play. Rudi Herpoel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ron Van Den Bosch in the 75th minute of the match. With a little luck, KFC Edegem's Rudi Herpoel got control of the ball when Christiaan Vanden Berghe tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ron Van Den Bosch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Rudi Herpoel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 80 minutes, Christiaan Vanden Berghe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC Sint-Goriks-Oudenhove's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christiaan Vanden Berghe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Martial Van der Veken recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rudi Herpoel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ron Van Den Bosch, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Christiaan Vanden Berghe might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rudi Herpoel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christiaan Vanden Berghe ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 94th minute, Christiaan Vanden Berghe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The KFC Edegem fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. AFC Sint-Goriks-Oudenhove were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
