Spectators: 6746 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1746, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Gery Verheecke made the kick off which started today's match. The supporters of FC smokers booed when KSV Brecht was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kobe Conincx didn't get a good kick on the ball. Quentin Struyf, 5 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 9thth minute of the game Gery Verheecke who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC smokers's Luke Dauwe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Abel Van der Veeren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Qwinten Dauwe kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Jaspar Van Leemputten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerry Pardaens having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in KSV Brecht's zone, Jaspar Van Leemputten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jerry Pardaens came out of the goal and Jaspar Van Leemputten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind KSV Brecht's goalkeeper Jerry Pardaens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 31st match minute, KSV Brecht was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kobe Conincx to maneuver through the defense. FC smokers's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Quentin Struyf in the 34th minute. Jaspar Van Leemputten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerry Pardaens having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Jaspar Van Leemputten managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC smokers's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaspar Van Leemputten was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jerry Pardaens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jaspar Van Leemputten was the one to do the kick off. Abel Van der Veeren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Georges Baert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerry Pardaens having to interfere. Ward Michiels kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Quentin Struyf missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 71 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Jerry Pardaens right hand side. Jaspar Van Leemputten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacobus Van Eyken in the 75th minute of play forced KSV Brecht's goalkeeper Jerry Pardaens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abel Van der Veeren who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Luke Dauwe when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Francois Henrix's late challenge caught a KSV Brecht's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francois Henrix helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, FC smokers's Francois Henrix got a free kick in the 88th minute. Quentin Struyf hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. When Abel Van der Veeren came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the KSV Brecht fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abel Van der Veeren couldn't finish the play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
