Lieven Van Haght acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 3rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Lenny Poets. Marc Sterckx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andries Wijngaerts didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Stan Van Der Elst went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Michiel Vincx in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lieven Van Haght prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stan Van Der Elst received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Andries Wijngaerts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Michiel Vincx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marc Sterckx could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Lieven Van Haght made a huge save. After having played for 32 minutes, Stan Van Der Elst managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Steenkerke's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stan Van Der Elst was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Henri-Patrick Van de Goor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Andries Wijngaerts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to VC Vlekkem getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Rene De Langhe hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stan Van Der Elst in the 47th minute of play forced VC Vlekkem's goalkeeper Andries Wijngaerts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Steenkerke were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 51st match minute, VC Vlekkem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kasper De Mol to maneuver through the defense. In the 53rd minute, Stan Van Der Elst got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Miguel Preuveneer hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Marc Sterckx got in the 60th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Lieven Van Haght handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 61st minute by Henri-Patrick Van de Goor got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With his leg Andries Wijngaerts managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Steenkerke's Henri-Patrick Van de Goor fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 73 minutes into the game, Michiel Vincx cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Lieven Van Haght was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 80 minutes into the match, VC Vlekkem's Michiel Vincx sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lieven Van Haght narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marc Sterckx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Lieven Van Haght tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marc Sterckx struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Lieven Van Haght didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Henri-Patrick Van de Goor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Andries Wijngaerts made a huge save. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Steenkerke eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
