The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Kristof Brabant's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maurus Leempoels was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Ruud Van Gorp recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 7th minute, Ruud Van Gorp ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Maurus Leempoels was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Deerlijk's Maurus Leempoels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kristof Brabant in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arend Van Geestel in the 22nd minute of play forced Heiende's goalkeeper Reinard Vrijdags to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute, Arend Van Geestel made a precise shot to the right of Reinard Vrijdags. Heiende's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Maurus Leempoels took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristof Brabant, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roland Vrijdag's late challenge caught a Deerlijk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roland Vrijdag helped the player get up and apologised. Roland Vrijdag kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Reinard Vrijdags showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arend Van Geestel in the 44th minute of the match. Maurus Leempoels made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ruud Van Gorp in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Michael Preuveneer to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Michael Preuveneer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reinard Vrijdags saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kristof Brabant struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Maurus Leempoels didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Heiende. If Ruud Van Gorp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute, Alek Ruttens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maurus Leempoels made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kristof Brabant in the 62nd minute of play. Heiende's Reinard Vrijdags played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Preuveneer in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Deerlijk's goalkeeper Maurus Leempoels, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Maurus Leempoels took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristof Brabant, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kristof Brabant in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Maurus Leempoels saved Deerlijk from getting behind. In the 75th minute, Kristof Brabant made a precise shot to the right of Maurus Leempoels. Deerlijk's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. In the 79thth minute of the game Ruud Van Gorp who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deerlijk's Maurus Leempoels was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Deerlijk's Maurus Leempoels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kristof Brabant in the 80th minute of play. Ruud Van Gorp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurus Leempoels having to interfere. Kristof Brabant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Maurus Leempoels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
