The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Rajmond Maerschalk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Nickopolis getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Stijn Verduin hit a great ball. Nickopolis's Rajmond Maerschalk got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 22nd minute, Amaury Van Deyck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dominik Elens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rajmond Maerschalk in the 28th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Nickopolis's Rajmond Maerschalk sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dominik Elens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cederique Van Steen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Izak Van Den Eynde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute Jon Van Cleynenbreugel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cederique Van Steen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Cubelicious's Jon Van Cleynenbreugel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cederique Van Steen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 43rd minute, Stefan De Bruijn fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Dominik Elens, passed just outside the right post. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rajmond Maerschalk made a kick off. Levi Coryn took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 52nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dominik Elens. Cubelicious's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Rajmond Maerschalk struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Dominik Elens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nickopolis. 59 minutes into the match, Cubelicious's goal looked a bit too open when Rajmond Maerschalk came free, but Dominik Elens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rajmond Maerschalk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Dominik Elens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rajmond Maerschalk in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dominik Elens saved Cubelicious from getting behind. Stefan De Bruijn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute Rajmond Maerschalk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dominik Elens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 67 minutes, Izak Van Den Eynde managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cubelicious's supporters crossed their fingers, but Izak Van Den Eynde was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Guy Van Nel took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 72nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dominik Elens. Cubelicious's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan De Bruijn in the 75th minute of play forced Cubelicious's goalkeeper Dominik Elens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dominik Elens came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Nickopolis's Stefan De Bruijn. But to his dismay, Stefan De Bruijn quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Rajmond Maerschalk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dominik Elens having to interfere. Dominik Elens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rajmond Maerschalk in the 91st minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 97th minute by Izak Van Den Eynde got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Nickopolis had won after a very even match.
