Geert Verhengen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joop De Mijer in the 11th minute of the match. Joop De Mijer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Geert Verhengen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guilian Winnepenninck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Corneel Van Adorp charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Corneel Van Adorp the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Corneel Van Adorp kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After 31 played minutes Schoonbroek got a freekick which was hit by Stan Seveneijns. 31 minutes into the match, Vinkwijk's Lenny Vrolijcx broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After a rather tough play, Schoonbroek's Stan Seveneijns got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Schoonbroek's zone, Glenn Neesens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rudy Libreghts came out of the goal and Glenn Neesens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 40 minutes into the match, Vinkwijk's goal looked a bit too open when Joop De Mijer came free, but Geert Verhengen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rudy Libreghts made an important save on a dangerous shot by Glenn Neesens in the 45th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 52nd minute, Joop De Mijer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 56th minute, Ian De Weerdt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vinkwijk's Glenn Neesens got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Guilian Winnepenninck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joop De Mijer scored 0-2 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Geert Verhengen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 73rd match minute, Schoonbroek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Corneel Van Adorp to maneuver through the defense. Guilian Winnepenninck struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Geert Verhengen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Schoonbroek.
