When Rudi Reyniers came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Gierle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rudi Reyniers couldn't finish the play. Tomm Weijgaerts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Robbin Koten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 24 played minutes Gierle got a freekick which was hit by Dominic den Ronden. The Doors United's Tomm Weijgaerts got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kristiaan Wynaerts didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mario Laremans went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. When the match clock showed 34 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Rudi Reyniers sped through The Doors United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kristiaan Wynaerts. Gierle's Mario Laremans got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rudi Reyniers in the 43rd minute of play forced The Doors United's goalkeeper Kristiaan Wynaerts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rudi Reyniers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kristiaan Wynaerts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario Laremans, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Mike den Ronden's late challenge caught a Gierle's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mike den Ronden helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, The Doors United's Mike den Ronden got a free kick in the 47th minute. After the first half Gierle were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After a defensive mix-up in The Doors United's zone, Mario Laremans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kristiaan Wynaerts came out of the goal and Mario Laremans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rudi Reyniers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristiaan Wynaerts having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 57 minutes, Kristiaan Wynaerts successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 62nd minute, Gierle's Rudi Reyniers ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kristiaan Wynaerts. Kristiaan Wynaerts yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. Frans De Koster recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Rudi Reyniers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Kristiaan Wynaerts made a huge save. 73 minutes into the match, The Doors United's Tomm Weijgaerts sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Robbin Koten narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 74 minutes, Rudi Reyniers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gierle's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rudi Reyniers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81st minute, Mike den Ronden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mario Laremans struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. When the final whistle sounded Gierle left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than The Doors United.
