Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ronald Voets started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute, Ronald Voets got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 7 minutes into the match, KV Malines's goal looked a bit too open when Lennart Goens came free, but Lex De Maerschalckx reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. KV Malines's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ronald Voets 12 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. After a rather tough play, KV Malines's Pino Biermans got a free kick in the 17th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronald Voets in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lex De Maerschalckx saved KV Malines from getting behind. Lennart Goens took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lex De Maerschalckx. Lex De Maerschalckx dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronald Voets in the 32nd minute of play forced KV Malines's goalkeeper Lex De Maerschalckx to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lennart Goens got free with Lex De Maerschalckx in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 42nd minute, Ronald Voets got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lex De Maerschalckx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronald Voets in the 48th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mats van Bedts to make the kick off. 57 minutes into the match, Lennart Goens had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lex De Maerschalckx. KV Malines's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lennart Goens was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Jens Baboeuf made an important save on a dangerous shot by Willem-Jan Van de Gaer in the 62nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Ronald Voets managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tervoort's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronald Voets was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lex De Maerschalckx breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lennart Goens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Lex De Maerschalckx tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mats van Bedts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jens Baboeuf having to interfere. Ronald Voets took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lex De Maerschalckx. Lex De Maerschalckx dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0.
