Spectators: 7296 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1746, VIP seats: 50) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Cederik Audenaert took the kick off in the first half of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 10th minute of the game. One of Van Lent:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SSC Hogerop Rotschot:s goal. The referee gave SSC Hogerop Rotschot a penalty, 11 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jeffrey Jongbloedt, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Van Lent's Antoine Klijnhens. 0-2. Van Lent's Karl Cheepers got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Sebastian Claes took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Toon Vlimmens to make any attempt to save it. If Karl Cheepers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Sebastian Claes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Van Lent's Sebastian Claes got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 38 minutes into the match, Sebastian Claes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Toon Vlimmens. SSC Hogerop Rotschot's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sebastian Claes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. After having played for 46 minutes, Cederik Audenaert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SSC Hogerop Rotschot's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cederik Audenaert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Christiaan Van Emelen kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Karl Cheepers made the kick off in the second half. If Karl Cheepers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Toon Vlimmens came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Van Lent's Sebastian Claes. But to his dismay, Sebastian Claes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. 70 minutes in the game, Karl Cheepers dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Gert-Jan De Clercq was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 73rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Karl Cheepers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toon Vlimmens having to interfere. Sebastian Claes struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Toon Vlimmens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Van Lent. Toon Vlimmens stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karl Cheepers's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. Karl Cheepers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Toon Vlimmens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl Cheepers in the 95th minute of play. There was no doubt that Van Lent were the better team. Van Lent's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
