Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Dre Van Leemputte got the match started through his kick off. Thierry De Kijser took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nicolaas Verelst. Nicolaas Verelst dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Pascal Van De Wiele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gert Van hoegaerde in the 11th minute of play. Dre Van Leemputte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Nicolaas Verelst tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute, FC Fatmax's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Thierry De Kijser fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Nicolaas Verelst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dre Van Leemputte, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Dre Van Leemputte struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Nicolaas Verelst didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Zwalm. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Waut Oelaerts during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC Fatmax's Waut Oelaerts got a free kick in the 24th minute. Joey Van Gestelt kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. A collision led to Club Zwalm getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Lennart Paschiers hit a great ball. Nicolaas Verelst was out of position in the 38 minute of play, and Dre Van Leemputte capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dre Van Leemputte really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in FC Fatmax's zone, Dre Van Leemputte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicolaas Verelst came out of the goal and Dre Van Leemputte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to FC Fatmax getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Jannis Caes hit a great ball. In the 46th minute Dre Van Leemputte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolaas Verelst saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 50 minutes into the match, FC Fatmax's goalkeeper Nicolaas Verelst had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thierry De Kijser. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ludo Van de Plas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. FC Fatmax's Nicolaas Verelst played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dre Van Leemputte in the 54th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ludo Van de Plas in the 59th minute of play forced Club Zwalm's goalkeeper Pascal Van De Wiele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thierry De Kijser fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolaas Verelst having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thierry De Kijser in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicolaas Verelst saved FC Fatmax from getting behind. Ludo Van de Plas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pascal Van De Wiele having to interfere. Gert Van hoegaerde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Ludo Van de Plas managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Fatmax's supporters rose to their feet, but Ludo Van de Plas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pascal Van De Wiele breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Lennart Paschiers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 89 minutes, Dre Van Leemputte managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Zwalm's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dre Van Leemputte was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Georges Bogaerts hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. After 91 minutes, Benny Huijbreghts mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Zwalm and the FC Fatmax players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gert Van hoegaerde got free with Pascal Van De Wiele in the 99th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
