Kenney Zimmer charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kenney Zimmer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kenney Zimmer kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in KAA Tongerlo's zone, Marnix Vercruysse stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Douglas Vandewalle came out of the goal and Marnix Vercruysse tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marnix Vercruysse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Douglas Vandewalle having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Marnix Vercruysse made a precise shot to the right of Douglas Vandewalle. KAA Tongerlo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marnix Vercruysse stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 73rd minute, KAA Tongerlo's Bernt Raeijmaeckers ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rens Van Der Weghen. Rens Van Der Weghen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. After 77 played minutes KAA Tongerlo got a freekick which was hit by Steff Ghesels. In the 79th minute Marnix Vercruysse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglas Vandewalle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
