In the 9th minute Glenn De Backer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alonzo Nalo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Knokke-Heist's goal looked a bit too open when Glenn De Backer came free, but Alonzo Nalo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Dimitri Van der Weijden fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RSC Mitswege's protests and gave Dimitri Van der Weijden a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to RSC Mitswege getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Dimitri Van der Weijden hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Knokke-Heist defense, Dimitri Van der Weijden kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alonzo Nalo. The Knokke-Heist fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alonzo Nalo should have stopped the shot. In the 18th minute Tijs Dejardin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alonzo Nalo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jorre Van de Wal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alexandre De Cat read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. In the 23rd minute Knokke-Heist were awarded a corner. Sven Lenaerts went to the cornerflag to take it. 23 minutes into the game, Timothy De Bougne was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RSC Mitswege's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Knokke-Heist the free kick. RSC Mitswege:s Alexandre De Cat showed great skill when he stopped Sven Lenaerts:s penalty. Thomas Dhondt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre De Cat having to interfere. Timothy De Bougne was shown his second yellow card after 29 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Thomas Dhondt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Knokke-Heist's supporters rose to their feet, but Thomas Dhondt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexandre De Cat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jorre Van de Wal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 35 minutes into the match, Knokke-Heist's goal looked a bit too open when Josef Dams came free, but Alonzo Nalo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in RSC Mitswege's zone, Jorre Van de Wal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexandre De Cat came out of the goal and Jorre Van de Wal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dolf Van Huruck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre De Cat having to interfere. Jorre Van de Wal had several of the RSC Mitswege's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 42 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Alexandre De Cat as he didn't even see the shot coming. After having played for 46 minutes, Glenn De Backer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RSC Mitswege's supporters crossed their fingers, but Glenn De Backer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jorre Van de Wal was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Thomas Dhondt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Knokke-Heist's supporters rose to their feet, but Thomas Dhondt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexandre De Cat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 57 minutes into the match, Knokke-Heist's goalkeeper Alonzo Nalo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Glenn De Backer. In the 73rdth minute of the game Thomas Dhondt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but RSC Mitswege's Alexandre De Cat was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alonzo Nalo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dimitri Van der Weijden in the 75th minute of play. Jens Van Der Linden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 80th minute, Glenn De Backer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The RSC Mitswege fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. If Josef Dams had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Knokke-Heist were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
