An unexpectedly hard shot by Olgierd Wozniak in the 12th minute of play forced DrughiGenk's goalkeeper Arne Sterckmans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brend Turpin during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 16 played minutes forzathys got a freekick which was hit by Brend Turpin. A collision led to forzathys getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Brend Turpin hit a great ball. Arne Sterckmans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olgierd Wozniak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Phillipe Van Hoyveldt came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the DrughiGenk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phillipe Van Hoyveldt couldn't finish the play. In the 48th minute of the match, Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden got a very nice opportunity to score, but Maximino Cesario was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Phillipe Van Hoyveldt made a kick off. forzathys's Olgierd Wozniak got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arne Sterckmans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kent Stuckens in the 60th minute of the match. Maximino Cesario showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phillipe Van Hoyveldt in the 70th minute of the match. In the 72nd minute of the match DrughiGenk got a corner. forzathys's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Arne Sterckmans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kent Stuckens, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. If Kent Stuckens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 92nd minute of the game. One of DrughiGenk:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of forzathys:s goal. When the match had been going on for 94 minutes, forzathys's Constant Ourogge got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Arne Sterckmans. Olgierd Wozniak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Arne Sterckmans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched forzathys eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
