Arne Sterckmans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baran Taykut, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Björn Kellberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden in the 14th minute. In the 17th minute DrughiGenk were awarded a corner. Vic Gressens went to the cornerflag to take it. Björn Kellberg made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden sent off a good shot on target. When Jozef Van De Broeck fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DrughiGenk's protests and gave Jozef Van De Broeck a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to DrughiGenk getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Jozef Van De Broeck hit a great ball. Ecaussinnes's Baran Taykut got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eivind Aaslund kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, DrughiGenk's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Holemans came free, but Arne Sterckmans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. DrughiGenk's Arne Sterckmans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baran Taykut in the 45th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, DrughiGenk's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Holemans came free, but Arne Sterckmans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

But to his dismay, Alex Holemans quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 60th match minute, DrughiGenk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jullian Hoes to maneuver through the defense. In the 66th minute, Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden made a precise shot to the right of Björn Kellberg. Ecaussinnes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After a rather tough play, DrughiGenk's Niels Sterckx got a free kick in the 69th minute. Ecaussinnes's Eivind Aaslund got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gerrit Kestens kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Arne Sterckmans made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Baran Taykut sent off a good shot on target. Baran Taykut could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Arne Sterckmans made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Holemans in the 88th minute of play forced DrughiGenk's goalkeeper Arne Sterckmans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 90 minutes into the game, Niels Sterckx was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. DrughiGenk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecaussinnes the free kick. In the 91st minute, Eivind Aaslund sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and DrughiGenk's Arne Sterckmans didn't even have to move. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ecaussinnes had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
