The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Edmundo De Matos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrique Serineu in the 45th minute of the match. If Flavio Quilempan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Henrique Serineu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Flavio Quilempan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Edmundo De Matos made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Henrique Serineu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edmundo De Matos was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. If Henrique Serineu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miguel Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evaristo Regalado, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 71st minute, Scawsby's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Toni Flores fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Henrique Serineu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Edmundo De Matos. That made the score 1-1 in the 81 minute of play. When Evaristo Regalado came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Scawsby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evaristo Regalado couldn't finish the play. Scawsby's Edmundo De Matos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Scawsby from getting a goal against them. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
