Jorge Manarte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Serineu in the 32nd minute of play. Barnes's Rodrigo Maurito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Zamora in the 42nd minute of play. Edgar Zamora struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Rodrigo Maurito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bentworth.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedro Serineu to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Miguel Ezequiel Niz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jorge Manarte was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Serineu couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Pedro Serineu put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jorge Manarte. Bentworth's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
