Viveque De Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 8th minute, Rodrigo Malheiro made a precise shot to the right of Marcelo Lentilha. Boscastle's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Diamantino Mendes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Manarte in the 11th minute of the match. Delmano Dos Santos hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Viveque De Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 19 minutes, Albertino Odemira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Boscastle and the Birmingham AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Albertino Odemira hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Delmano Dos Santos's late challenge caught a Boscastle's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Delmano Dos Santos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 23rd minute, Delmano Dos Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hector Manarte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Diamantino Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rodrigo Malheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Lentilha having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Boscastle's goal looked a bit too open when Viveque De Matos came free, but Marcelo Lentilha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 37 minutes into the game, Boscastle's Cláudio Dos Santos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Diamantino Mendes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hector Manarte made a kick off. In the 54th minute Hector Manarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diamantino Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcelo Lentilha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Viveque De Matos in the 56th minute. In the 57th minute, Albertino Odemira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rodrigo Malheiro struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Marcelo Lentilha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Birmingham AFC. When David Montinho fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Birmingham AFC's protests and gave David Montinho a yellow card for diving instead. After 69 minutes of play, Boscastle's Cláudio Dos Santos made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Diamantino Mendes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Hector Manarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Boscastle's Marcelo Lentilha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodrigo Malheiro in the 77th minute of play. After 78 minutes Boscastle's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alda Curvelo who took care of the corner kick. Marílio Fontão tried in the 79th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Marcelo Lentilha a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 2-2. In the 84th minute, Hector Manarte left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Boscastle fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. After 90 played minutes Birmingham AFC got a freekick which was hit by David Montinho .
