After a rather tough play, Skelmersdale's Custódio Nascimento got a free kick in the 5th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeu Flores in the 7th minute of play forced Skelmersdale's goalkeeper Viveque Matta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Viveque Matta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Carlos Caneças, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11thth minute of the game Afonso Amado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Skelmersdale's Viveque Matta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Viveque Matta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Carlos Caneças in the 12th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Skelmersdale's Tadeu Pedrosa got a free kick in the 13th minute. Nuno Ramos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Viveque Matta. Skelmersdale's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 19th minute, João Carlos Caneças made a precise shot to the right of Viveque Matta. Skelmersdale's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Viveque Matta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonso Amado in the 23rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Carlos Caneças in the 35th minute of play forced Skelmersdale's goalkeeper Viveque Matta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 played minutes Skelmersdale got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Valies. In the 37th minute of the match Nuno Ramos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Viveque Matta skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Desert Fury booed when Skelmersdale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Custódio Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. 43 minutes into the game, Desert Fury's Nuno Ramos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Viveque Matta made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. The Skelmersdale players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Desert Fury were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Valies to make the kick off. Viveque Matta made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Afonso Amado sent off a good shot on target. When Desert Fury's Afonso Amado, in the 52nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Desert Fury. 54 minutes into the match, João Carlos Caneças had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Viveque Matta. Skelmersdale's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João Carlos Caneças was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Ramos in the 57th minute of play forced Skelmersdale's goalkeeper Viveque Matta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Skelmersdale's Viveque Matta got control of the ball when João Carlos Caneças tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tadeu Flores took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Viveque Matta. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling João Carlos Caneças in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Viveque Matta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. David Samakuva charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed David Samakuva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 75th minute, David Samakuva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 76 minutes into the match, Eduardo Ganete sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Viveque Matta threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Eduardo Ganete this time. 77 minutes into the match, Skelmersdale's goal looked a bit too open when Nuno Ramos came free, but Viveque Matta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Viveque Matta managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when Desert Fury's João Carlos Caneças fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 81 minutes into the match, Skelmersdale's goalkeeper Viveque Matta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by João Carlos Caneças. Carlos Valies sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Miguel Vila-Santa's late challenge caught a Desert Fury's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Miguel Vila-Santa helped the player get up and apologised. Viveque Matta acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 86th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Nuno Ramos. Viveque Matta was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Afonso Amado showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-6 in the 88 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Valies in the 94th minute of play forced Desert Fury's goalkeeper Nuno Dikaté to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Desert Fury's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
