The supporters of Shepshed booed when Tiki Taka Barcelona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damien Dewhirst didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jimmy Tompkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. Shepshed's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tristan Sharpe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Jack North, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 81 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Rodney Thornton was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Rodney Thornton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tristan Sharpe in the 83rd minute of play. Tristan Sharpe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rodney Thornton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. When Jimmy Tompkins came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Shepshed fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jimmy Tompkins couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tristan Sharpe in the 88th minute of play forced Tiki Taka Barcelona's goalkeeper Rodney Thornton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodney Thornton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jack North in the 89th minute of play. Shepshed's Tristan Sharpe got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Michael Litchfield's late challenge caught a Tiki Taka Barcelona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
