Chelsea's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Downham Market FC the free kick. Pierce Shackleton hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After 8 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Downham Market FC! A collision led to Downham Market FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Sammy Ainsworth hit a great ball. Martyn Seagrave showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franz Slater in the 17th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Franz Slater hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wally Avery came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Downham Market FC's Giles Tabb. But to his dismay, Giles Tabb quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After 22 minutes, Nick Kingston mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chelsea and the Downham Market FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Giles Tabb sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sammy Ainsworth in the 37th minute of play forced Chelsea's goalkeeper Wally Avery to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giles Tabb scored 1-2 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wally Avery, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Pierce Shackleton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martyn Seagrave having to interfere.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Franz Slater in the 52nd minute of play forced Downham Market FC's goalkeeper Martyn Seagrave to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lewis Hamilton kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Giles Tabb fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wally Avery having to interfere. Giles Tabb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Wally Avery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Chelsea's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Sammy Ainsworth fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Martyn Seagrave showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sol Pritchard, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Sammy Ainsworth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Sammy Ainsworth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Giles Tabb ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wally Avery was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Adrian Granville charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adrian Granville the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Adrian Granville kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Howard Land hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Gaz Carsley kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. After 96 played minutes, Chelsea's Harvey Shipperley shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Martyn Seagrave came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chelsea reached it. Downham Market FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
