Spectators: 6956 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1956, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Will Westwood got the match started through his kick off. 4 minutes into the game, Sporting Llorts's Jim Blueman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luke Hurst made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Luke Hurst made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jim Blueman in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute Mike Lineker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luke Hurst saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, La Massana's goal looked a bit too open when Mike Lineker came free, but Luke Hurst reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Les Kaye's late challenge caught a La Massana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Les Kaye helped the player get up and apologised. In the 14th match minute, Sporting Llorts was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Les Kaye to maneuver through the defense. After 18 played minutes La Massana got a freekick which was hit by Hugh Wheeler. Luke Hurst stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jim Blueman's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Mike Lineker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Luke Hurst tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Sporting Llorts booed when La Massana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barrie Currie didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute, Mike Lineker ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luke Hurst was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Will Westwood recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Lenny Mabbutt notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Sporting Llorts's Kieran Newman. Kieran Newman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mike Lineker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 38 minutes into the match, La Massana's goal looked a bit too open when Jim Blueman came free, but Luke Hurst reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jim Blueman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luke Hurst having to interfere. After 43 minutes, Mike Lineker made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. La Massana's Luke Hurst tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Jim Blueman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mike Lineker made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Les Kaye took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Luke Hurst to make any attempt to save it. La Massana's Luke Hurst proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save La Massana from getting a goal against them. Luke Hurst made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jim Blueman in the 62nd minute. With a little luck, La Massana's Luke Hurst got control of the ball when Jim Blueman tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Sporting Llorts booed when La Massana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugh Wheeler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sporting Llorts's Mike Lineker got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 74 minutes into the match, La Massana's goalkeeper Luke Hurst had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jim Blueman. If Jim Blueman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luke Hurst made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Les Kaye sent off a good shot on target. Mike Lineker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luke Hurst took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mike Lineker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sporting Llorts's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
