He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chelsea reached it. Dynamo 93's Phil Tindale got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Piers Winter hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. A collision led to Chelsea getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Harvey Shipperley hit a great ball. Wally Avery made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Doug Whitford sent off a good shot on target. Pierce Shackleton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barrie Perkins having to interfere. If Ralph Nicholson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Dynamo 93 booed when Chelsea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brad Illingworth didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dynamo 93's Kristopher Bridge suffered a concussion after 32 minutes and had to leave the field. After 32 minutes, Piers Winter mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chelsea and the Dynamo 93 players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 37 minutes, Pierce Shackleton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chelsea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pierce Shackleton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Barrie Perkins didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pierce Shackleton went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Doug Whitford stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Phil Tindale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brad Illingworth hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. 56 minutes into the match, Doug Whitford notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Chelsea's Wally Avery. Wally Avery was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 59 minutes into the match, Chelsea's goal looked a bit too open when Doug Whitford came free, but Wally Avery reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Doug Whitford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
