In the 3rd match minute, Welgevonden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Themba Bartlett to maneuver through the defense. Themba Bartlett blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Legako Nomvete having to make a save. Yzerfontein's Legako Nomvete played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Themba Bartlett in the 9th minute of play. A collision led to Yzerfontein getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Thami Mumede hit a great ball. If Thomas Miti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Legako Nomvete made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Themba Bartlett in the 15th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Yzerfontein's Kenny Ngake got a free kick in the 15th minute. Legako Nomvete showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stanton Magakula, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Legako Nomvete came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Welgevonden's Stanton Magakula. But to his dismay, Stanton Magakula quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Welgevonden's goalkeeper Boyisani Collins, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Thabile Nomvete had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomas Miti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thabile Nomvete struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Boyisani Collins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yzerfontein. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Themba Bartlett in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Legako Nomvete prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Legako Nomvete took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Themba Bartlett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thabile Nomvete fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boyisani Collins having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thomas Miti to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Yzerfontein getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Thami Mumede hit a great ball. Stanton Magakula's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 56thth minute, Legako Nomvete skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 59th minute, Madolo Kekana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Etienne Madiba hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. After 63 played minutes Yzerfontein got a freekick which was hit by Thami Mumede. Themba Bartlett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Legako Nomvete tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stanton Magakula got free with Legako Nomvete in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alpheus Smith charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alpheus Smith the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Yzerfontein's Alpheus Smith got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 69th minute of the match Madolo Kekana shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Legako Nomvete showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 76th minute Thomas Miti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boyisani Collins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, Yzerfontein's Thomas Miti sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Boyisani Collins narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 80th minute Thabile Nomvete shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boyisani Collins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thabile Nomvete sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thomas Miti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Boyisani Collins read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 87 minutes into the game, when Etienne Madiba put in a rough tackle. In the 87th minute, one of Yzerfontein:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Yzerfontein. The goalkeeper, Legako Nomvete, was totally fooled by Welgevonden's Madolo Kekana, who 89 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Legako Nomvete stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Themba Bartlett's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. Legako Nomvete showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Themba Bartlett in the 94th minute of the match. Legako Nomvete took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Themba Bartlett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
