After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Silas Madima managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vlakfontein's supporters rose to their feet, but Silas Madima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Promise Nomvete breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 34th minute of the match Nelson Mufadi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gordon Mabele skillfully saved the ball. Nicolas Mbule blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gordon Mabele having to make a save. If Mando Fortuin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind College Rovers FC's goalkeeper Promise Nomvete, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolas Mbule in the 81st minute of play forced Vlakfontein's goalkeeper Gordon Mabele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gordon Mabele stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicolas Mbule's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Nicolas Mbule might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gordon Mabele. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicolas Mbule ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 87 minutes, Mando Fortuin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. College Rovers FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mando Fortuin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nicolas Mbule sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gordon Mabele showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolas Mbule in the 93rd minute of the match. Gordon Mabele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mpenza Khomane in the 95th minute of play. After 97 minutes, Mawetu Mufadi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the College Rovers FC and the Vlakfontein players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mawetu Mufadi hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. College Rovers FC played a much better game than Vlakfontein and deserved their victory. The Vlakfontein players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
