Kingston Thwala's late challenge caught a Kaizer Chiefs F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kingston Thwala helped the player get up and apologised. Siyabonge Patel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charles Liau in the 27th minute of play. In the 30th minute there was a penalty for Evutha. Melusi Qabi stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Siyabonge Patel. 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dumisane King in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Siyabonge Patel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charles Liau in the 38th minute of play forced Kaizer Chiefs F.C.'s goalkeeper Siyabonge Patel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Charles Liau managed to get in a good position for a shot. Evutha's supporters rose to their feet, but Charles Liau was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Siyabonge Patel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joseph Mufumadi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rabelani Khumalo having to make a save. In the 84th minute, Meshack Tau hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joseph Mufumadi in the 85th minute of play forced Evutha's goalkeeper Rabelani Khumalo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th match minute, Evutha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henry Mbule to maneuver through the defense. Siyabonge Patel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dumisane King in the 88th minute of the match. When Nkosi Modipa fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kaizer Chiefs F.C.'s protests and gave Nkosi Modipa a yellow card for diving instead.
