Alpheus Takane dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Siphokazi Smith during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Bloemspruit booed when Kift boys f.c was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Siphokazi Smith didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kenny Mbheki might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alpheus Takane. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kenny Mbheki ran back to his position shaking his head. After 16 minutes of play, Bloemspruit's Dumisane Cassim made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alpheus Takane was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bomikaze Sephiri during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Kift boys f.c getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Bomikaze Sephiri hit a great ball. Alpheus Takane showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dumisane Cassim in the 24th minute of the match. Dumisane Cassim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bloemspruit's Mthunzi Maduna proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Bloemspruit from getting a goal against them. In the 30th minute of the match Madolo Strauss sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alpheus Takane skillfully saved the ball. If Kenny Mbheki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 33 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Kift boys f.c! In the 35th minute there was a penalty for Bloemspruit. Kenny Stoltz stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alpheus Takane. 0-3. When Ebrahim Madiya fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bloemspruit's protests and gave Ebrahim Madiya a yellow card for diving instead. After 37 played minutes Bloemspruit got a freekick which was hit by Ebrahim Madiya. 40 minutes into the match, Dumisane Cassim had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alpheus Takane. Kift boys f.c's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dumisane Cassim was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kift boys f.c's goalkeeper Alpheus Takane, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half Bloemspruit were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Alpheus Takane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenny Mbheki in the 54th minute of play. Kenny Mbheki was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 62nd minute. Bloemspruit's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 67th match minute, Kift boys f.c was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rabelani Maduna to maneuver through the defense. Bloemspruit's Kenny Stoltz couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 68th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Kift boys f.c. In the 73rd minute Kenny Mbheki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alpheus Takane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dumisane Cassim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alpheus Takane having to interfere.
