Daniel Ciocârlan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sever Neața having to interfere. When Daniel Ciocârlan came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Uglena FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Ciocârlan couldn't finish the play. After 13 minutes of play, Uglena FC's Marcu Agud made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sever Neața was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sever Neața took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcu Agud, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eugen Predoiu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martin Bărnuțiu in the 27th minute. Eric Nedelcea hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcu Agud made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Ghimpoaia's Martin Bărnuțiu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eugen Predoiu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eugen Predoiu came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ghimpoaia's Slavko Roža. But to his dismay, Slavko Roža quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Marcu Agud received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Sever Neața tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Uglena FC booed when Ghimpoaia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Codruț Stănciulaş didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 67 minutes, Slavko Roža made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. Uglena FC's Eugen Predoiu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Eugen Predoiu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sever Neața made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Ciocârlan in the 95th minute. Eugen Predoiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eric Nedelcea, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Ghimpoaia's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
