Cornel Tirulescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pompiliu Trifu, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 11th minute Petre Apostol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornel Tirulescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pompiliu Trifu's late challenge caught a Kalnok's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pompiliu Trifu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th minute, Pompiliu Trifu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to FC Gabi Mutu getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Virgil Joanță hit a great ball. In the 32nd minute of the match Adam Ştirbu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Codruț Joldea showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 36 minutes of play, FC Gabi Mutu's Edgar Şteţ made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cornel Tirulescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 39 minutes, Edgar Şteţ managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Gabi Mutu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgar Şteţ was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kalnok's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gigel Surugiu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Ernest Bratoloveanu's late challenge caught a FC Gabi Mutu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernest Bratoloveanu helped the player get up and apologised. Ernest Bratoloveanu hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

In a very dangerous position, a player in FC Gabi Mutu fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 52nd minute. Penalty! Gigel Surugiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornel Tirulescu having to interfere. In the 64th match minute, Kalnok was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Octav Moșneanu to maneuver through the defense. Gigel Surugius short, quick shot in the 65thth minute got Cornel Tirulescu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Kalnok's Cornel Tirulescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Şteţ in the 73rd minute of play. Cornel Tirulescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gigel Surugiu in the 74th minute. In the 75th match minute, Kalnok was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernest Bratoloveanu to maneuver through the defense. Edgar Şteţ fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornel Tirulescu having to interfere. Gigel Surugiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Cornel Tirulescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kalnok's defense didn't have a chance, in the 84th minute, when Petre Apostol scored to the left of an out of position Cornel Tirulescu, making the score, 1-4. After a rather tough play, FC Gabi Mutu's Petre Apostol got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Kalnok's Adam Ştirbu couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 94th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for FC Gabi Mutu. If Nicu Voiculescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Codruț Joldea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toader Bodea in the 98th minute of play. The Kalnok fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Gabi Mutu were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
