Spectators: 7395 (Terracing: 5631, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 38) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Marian Miroiu started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Marian Miroiu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 5th minute, Ghirolt's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gigi Doman fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. FC Bucuresti's Gigi Doman got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sever Călinescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marian Miroiu's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. Ghirolt's Sever Călinescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marian Miroiu in the 12th minute of play. After having played for 14 minutes, Sergiu Popilean managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ghirolt's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sergiu Popilean was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 20th minute, Gigi Doman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sever Călinescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marian Miroiu in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sever Călinescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sever Călinescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gigi Doman in the 30th minute. Sever Călinescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marian Miroiu in the 33rd minute of play. Sever Călinescu had great luck who in the 37thth minute grab hold of the ball when Marian Miroiu from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Gigi Doman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Sever Călinescu made a huge save. A collision led to Ghirolt getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Irinel Dogaru hit a great ball. When Gigi Doman came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the FC Bucuresti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gigi Doman couldn't finish the play. Ghirolt's Sever Călinescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marian Miroiu in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Irinel Dogaru in the 42nd minute of play forced FC Bucuresti's goalkeeper Teodor Cârneci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute, FC Bucuresti's Mihail Gligan seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Mihail Gligan the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC Bucuresti protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Mihail Gligan had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 43 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Bucuresti! In the 46th minute there was a penalty for Ghirolt. Valeriu Budianu stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Teodor Cârneci. 2-1.

The wind increased when Sergiu Popilean made the kick off in the second half. If Gigi Doman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ghirolt's zone, Gigi Doman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sever Călinescu came out of the goal and Gigi Doman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 57th minute, Gigi Doman made a precise shot to the right of Sever Călinescu. Ghirolt's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Gigi Doman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sever Călinescu having to interfere. Manole Zăhărescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Sever Călinescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gigi Doman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sever Călinescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tiberiu Dridu during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ghirolt booed when FC Bucuresti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiberiu Dridu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute Marian Miroiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sever Călinescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sever Călinescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marian Miroiu's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. After 77 minutes Ghirolt's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Manole Zăhărescu who took care of the corner kick. FC Bucuresti walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
