The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Cosmin Borza's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Karl-Åke Bergqvist was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. Figo FC's Karl-Åke Bergqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cosmin Borza in the 10th minute of play. The supporters of Figo FC booed when FC Janghina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nichifor Papaiani didn't get a good kick on the ball. Karl-Åke Bergqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octav Gănescu in the 20th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Cosmin Borza's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Karl-Åke Bergqvist was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. After 22 minutes of play, FC Janghina's Octav Gănescu made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. In the 30thth minute of the game Petru Geambașu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Janghina's Dorel Boboc was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The nice shot from Petru Geambașu in the 32ndth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Dorel Boboc had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nichifor Papaiani in the 42nd minute of play forced Figo FC's goalkeeper Karl-Åke Bergqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Figo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Octav Gănescu came free, but Karl-Åke Bergqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Petru Geambașu made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Figo FC's Dorel Dimofte got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Cristian Aplugăriței kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Dorel Boboc stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Petru Geambașu's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. The audience was convinced that Petru Geambașu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dorel Boboc was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Figo FC's zone, Octav Gănescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karl-Åke Bergqvist came out of the goal and Octav Gănescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 69 minutes into the match, FC Janghina's goal looked a bit too open when Petru Geambașu came free, but Dorel Boboc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st minute Cosmin Borza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Åke Bergqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Karl-Åke Bergqvist managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when FC Janghina's Cosmin Borza fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Cezar Chiliman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77thth minute of the game Cosmin Borza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Figo FC's Karl-Åke Bergqvist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Figo FC's Karl-Åke Bergqvist got control of the ball when Octav Gănescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cezar Chiliman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Dorel Boboc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Octav Gănescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Åke Bergqvist having to interfere. Karl-Åke Bergqvist came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Janghina's Octav Gănescu. But to his dismay, Octav Gănescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Dorel Boboc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petru Geambașu, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Figo FC's Karl-Åke Bergqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cosmin Borza in the 95th minute of play. Figo FC's Karl-Åke Bergqvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Figo FC from getting a goal against them.
