Spectators: 7259 (Terracing: 5545, Seating: 1699, VIP seats: 15) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Vintilă Măgherușan got the match started through his kick off. Toplita's Gigi Stoicănescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Toplita from getting a goal against them. Gigi Stoicănescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augustin Moarcăș, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 7th minute Augustin Moarcăș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigi Stoicănescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gigi Stoicănescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Călin Siniştean in the 8th minute. In the 15th match minute, Toplita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emilian Dragoș to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Augustin Moarcăș in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gigi Stoicănescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vintilă Măgherușan took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luca Arseni. Luca Arseni dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Luca Arseni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vintilă Măgherușan in the 24th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, FC Selimbar's goal looked a bit too open when Cătălin Brădescu came free, but Luca Arseni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, FC Selimbar's Irinel Bologa got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Toplita's goalkeeper Gigi Stoicănescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Augustin Moarcăș had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Augustin Moarcăș made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Toplita's Emilian Dragoș got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 66th minute, Iulian Minulescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gigi Stoicănescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. FC Selimbar made a substitution. Călin Geoană replaced Narcis Culcer. In the 77th minute, Augustin Moarcăș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luca Arseni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vintilă Măgherușan, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Emilian Dragoș hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Dorel Doicaru's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Luca Arseni firmly grabbed it by the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Irinel Bologa during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A hard shot by Vlad Rizea from long distance, 87 minutes into the match, got Luca Arseni's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Gigi Stoicănescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Călin Șerbulea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Augustin Moarcăș received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Gigi Stoicănescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gigi Stoicănescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augustin Moarcăș in the 93rd minute of play.
